What I can say about my personal experience so far at Ladisten is that even though I was skeptical, I do not regret my decision to choose this clinic.
The results should speak for themselves and I love my new straight legs. I hope I'll be able to run and play sports again in a few months but in the
meantime, recovery seems to be going very well and I am happy with my leg shape and the extra centimeter gained in height! I actually enjoyed my rehabilitation period at the clinic; felt properly cared for and attended to by several doctors including Dr. Vecklich, the wonderful nurses and management staff like Victoria. (She is exceptionally caring!) The facility was very clean, spacious and comfortable. I fell in love with Ukrainian
food; a lot of chicken, cabbage, potatoes, wheat bread etc and use of herbs like dill for flavor. I didn't understand any of the local language though,
so it helped to have a young roommate who understood some English. The first 5 days were the hardest so I'm glad I had the laptop with internet
connectivity. As for the journey home on a wheelchair, it wasn't as bad as I thought. The airport staff swiftly took me through customs, immigration and
onto the aircraft and it's actually nice not having to do anything yourself through the airport process! It's a pity that I hardly got to see any of the city or the country but the clinic environment was a world of it's own, and it was warm, caring and very memorable. I thank Ladisten for making my leg-correcting experience so wonderful….it truly felt like a home away from home!

For so long I was dreaming to "correct my legs", but eventually I almost gave up on it. Besides that I thought that it is only a dream and practically nothing could be done in reality for that. Quit resently, rather out of curiosity, I was surfing the web looking for all kind of information in this issue and I' ve found the Ladisten clinic site. Very soon after that I went to Kiev and on the next day there I had the surgery.
It was made by the best specialist in the world Dr. Veklich. The surgery was done perfectly and smoothly without any complication.
Only later I have realized how fortunate I was to be operated by Dr Vecklich who has a lot of experience and skills that secures the success of this surgery. All the way though the whole thing I was helped by the Clinic administrator and Dr Veklich assistant Victoria. Her management's skills made all the procedure smooth and pleasant from the meeting in the airport at the arrival and till the arranging the departure after the successful surgery and treatment. My stay in the clinic was a very pleasant and comfortable. The clinic is located in the new nice building, very clean and beautifully decorated. I have received a wonderful bedroom with many channels TV, with a separate fridge and a separate bathroom.
The staff in the Ladisten Clinic is very professional and carrying. They are lovingly taking care after of their patients, every day they cook a fresh and wholesome meal and always ready to help in every possible way.
Though sometimes the time seems to move very slowly and may be it is better try to think in advance how would you keep yourself busy: writing a book, learning a new language? But one way or the other eventually those "long moments" pass.
I am so glad it is done now and very grateful to Dr. Veklich and his staff that made my dream a reality to me. I can tell now that it is absolutely safe to come to Ukraine to Ladisten clinic and wish you every success in accomplishing this personal and such an important to you project.

I decided not just to thank dr. Veklich for what he did for me, but also share some of my experience with those who still doubt whether to have this operation.
I was dreaming to have it since I was 13 I guess. But everybody kept telling me that it's hardly possible and anyway is too risky. I found this clinic in March 2007 and told my parents about my decision. They were shocked and absolutely against it so tried their best to talk me out of this, unsuccessfully of course. So I flew to Ukraine in September. I so doubted about whether what was happening was true. Everything happened very quickly. The first day was for getting acquainted, talk, and the second – for analyses. On the third day I was operated. I had no doubts before operation about whether I was doing the right thing, and the night before I slept very well.
I had never seen an operating room in real before. For some reason nurses didn't make me sleep before taking me there. I was given a couple of shots with something in my room, laid on a wheel table and was taken to the operating room. Because of my bad sight I didn't see all details of the surroundings, which was good, inside I didn't panic much. The most unpleasant even painful shot was the one with a dropper into the vain. The spinal anesthetic shot wasn't painful at all. The last shot I remember was something soporific into the vain; it knocked me out very quickly. When I woke up I was trembling of cold, but was very happy to wake up. They took me to my room where I was able to view my new straight legs. I felt on top of the world!

Once upon a time I was consumed by the frustration of having bowed legs. My quality of life was effected every single day by this condition. I found the Ladisten website by chance on March of this year (2004). Little I knew how much my life would change. It had being a long time since I gave up on my dream of correcting my bow legs. No doctor that I visited before for the last 20 years would take on the challege. Хочу сказать вам всем огромное спасибо за все то, что вы для меня сделали!
За отлично проведенную операцию, комфорт душевный и физический, за чуткость и понимание. За то, что видите в своих пациентах, прежде всего, людей. Ни дня я не чувствовала себя больной, скорее – гостем, а это очень греет, когда ты далеко от семьи.
И, конечно же, – за мои ровные ножки. =) За то, что я теперь освобождена от постоянных мыслей о собственной ущербности и могу просто не думать, как бы исхитриться, чтобы моя беда не бросалась в глаза окружающим.
Для потенциальных пациентов объясню, почему я выбрала именно этого врача и эту клинику:
- метод малотравматичный;
- четко выставленная механическая ось (анатомически правильно выставленная!) За этот пункт скажут спасибо лет через 25-30 мои суставы;
- очень привлекло то, что аппарат ставится на кость в местах, где отсутствуют мышцы - т.е. боли минимальные и то, вначале; риск инфицирования значительно снижается;
- наличие в конструкции аппаратов титановых стержней – полная уверенность, что они не сломаются, в отличие от спиц; стержневые аппараты намного прочнее держат кость – перелом хорошо фиксирован;
- аппаратики маленькие - сразу отрабатываешь нормальную походку, еще находясь в них;
- после снятия остается по 3 небольших рубца на каждой ноге, не так уж и много;
- богатый опыт работы с аппаратами (28 лет), исправление кривизны в течение 15-16 лет;
- отзывы как о профессионале и отличном специалисте во врачебной среде;
- понравились результаты пациенток, с которыми я, к тому же, имела возможность общаться;
- меня очень привлекло то, что Виталий Викторович уверенно работает с детками, где все намного тоньше и ответственней (причем ни одного отрицательного отзыва!);
- не надо крутить ничего, а сразу после операции ты видишь, для чего ты здесь и ради чего терпеть - т.к. ножки ровные сразу;
- наркоз – идеальный при таких операциях;
- антибиотики применяются исключительно локально, то есть организм не страдает, как при приеме их внутрь или в инъекциях;
- минимум обезболивающих – это я слышала от других пациенток, мне же довелось просить только 4 инъекции в первые сутки, больше не потребовалось вообще;
Условия клиники я оценила, будучи там: все приспособлено до мелочей, из которых и состоит каждый день нашей жизни.
Очень признательна за то, что не было предоперационной суеты, а когда была на операционном столе и ждала, когда подействует анестезия, звучала красивая музыка и умиротворяющий голос анестезиолога Максима Николаевича, а не лязг жутких, с точки зрения пациента, металлических инструментов. Даже цветовая гамма операционной – светло-зеленая - способствовала спокойствию в такой волнительной ситуации.
Время, прошедшее в того момента, как я очнулась после наркоза, и тянулось, и бежало. Главная мысль, которая меня очень поддерживала: я попала к профессионалу, человеку и доктору, которому я доверяю. Конечно, первые сутки были не очень приятны в плане ощущений, но я уже видела свои новые ножки и знала, ради чего терпеть.
Удивительно видеть свои новые ноги… Потрясающее чувство, когда соприкасаются колени и голени, а голеностопы остаются на расстоянии друг от друга. Так странно, будто это не со мной происходит: лежу с переломанными ногами совершенно счастливая каким-то спокойным, уверенным счастьем, а ведь этого могло бы не быть и жила бы я и дальше с целыми ногами и изломанной душой…
Уезжать было очень грустно. Потому, что я очень привязалась ко всем обитателям клиники: и к персоналу, и конечно, к товарищам по аппаратам.
Виталий Викторович дал мне потрясающую возможность ощущать себя свободной даже с первого момента, когда, едва очнувшись, пошатываясь (и где была моя хваленая координация?), я откинула одеяло, чтоб взглянуть на свои новые ноги. Чудо свершилось. Понравилась фраза одного из моих соседей, оброненная в задумчивости: «Доктор - волшебник». Я и сама так думаю, только это волшебство дается ему путем стремления найти что-то еще лучше, еще совершеннее, он не стоит на месте – он изобретает.
Теперь я свободна в выборе одежды, пляж перестанет быть Голгофой… Но главное – я чувствую себя свободной от той жуткой подавляющей мысли, которая всегда присутствует у каждой кривоножки, из-за этой мысли я много от чего отказалась в жизни в свое время, всегда чувствовала себя крайне уязвимой и от этого очень неуверенной.
Виталий Викторович сломал не только ноги, но и мое сознание. Передать невозможно, насколько я ему благодарна за все, что он сделал мне; за спасенные от глубоких ран детские души; за руки-ноги, восстановленные после тяжелейших травм или простых переломов. Это все не только связки-кости-мышцы, какие-то анатомические образования, это – Судьбы людей.
Я очень рада, что в мою судьбу сделал вклад такой замечательный человек и хирург, как Виталий Викторович. Пусть его золотые руки помогут всем обратившимся, а его творческая жизнь врача будет долгой.
